China open-air solar energy 5kWh power maintenance

Previous studies have suggested that China's solar energy resource potential surpass the projected nationwide power demand in 2060, yet the uncertainty quantification and cost competitiveness of such resource potential are less studied.

If China were to enact regulations to improve air quality to natural background levels, similar to those in Tibet, the resulting improvement in solar-power output could allow carbon-neutrality targets to be met earlier while also benefiting human respiratory health.

Similarly, some researchers have previously estimated China's solar PV potential. Yu et al. (2023) utilized multi-criteria decision mode and random forest algorithm to calculate China's large-scale and distributed solar PV power generation potentials in prefecture-level cities.

Researchers have shown that there is huge potential for China's solar photovoltaic power development. But to what extent can this potential be realized, and the pathways to fill the gap between actual performance and technically available solar resources still require in-depth study.

POWERCHINA's core competitiveness of industrial management, development planning, survey and design, EPC contracting and project investment, operation and maintenance in the solar power industry is the backbone of the development of China's solar power.

They account for 44.0% and 24.7% of the national potential, respectively, whereas the rest of mainland China accounts for only 31.3%. Temporally, the national solar potential declined by 1.07%/decade from 1995 to 2019.
