The proposed WPPGS is installed in the median of the highway, which can simultaneously capture the solar energy and wind energy produced by running vehicles.
The benefits of wind turbines on roads are numerous. They can provide a source of clean energy for electric vehicles and reduce the need for traditional power lines. Additionally, wind turbines on roads and highways can generate power during natural disasters when traditional power sources may be down.
The potential for wind turbines on roads to generate power for a city depends on the number of turbines and the location of the turbines. However, they can be a significant source of clean energy and can help to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Will wind turbines on roads be a safety hazard for drivers?
The proposed hybrid power generation system uses wind and solar resources. The proposed system focuses on use of air on highway divider with the help vertical axis wind turbine. When the vehicle passed on the highway it produces a considerable amount of air due to its speed.
So, in order to meet the energy demands, the proposed approach includes a concept of a new Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) design that generates power from moving vehicles and further integrated with PV for increased power generation. Seasonal variations can be accommodated by the related hybrid scheme.
Tian proposed an approach to harvest energy from the wakes of moving mobilities on highways based on a vertical-axis wind turbine ( Tian et al., 2017) proposed wind turbine could adapt to the two-way wind from the two-way lane, and its average power was 139.60 W.
