A 50 MW “photovoltaic + energy storage” power generation system is designed. The operation performance of the power generation system is studied from various angles. The economic and environmental benefits in the life cycle of the system are explored. The carbon emission that can be saved by power generation system is calculated.
It is a rational decision for users to plan their capacity and adjust their power consumption strategy to improve their revenue by installing PV–energy storage systems. PV power generation systems typically exhibit two operational modes: grid-connected and off-grid .
The principal studies of PV power generation systems concentrate on two key areas: The optimal capacity of rooftop PV power generation systems and energy storage is being designed [3, 4], and the economic and environmental benefits of the systems are being investigated [5–8].
Among all renewable energy resources, energy harvesting from the solar photovoltaic system is the most essential and suitable way. The major challenge now a days is to store the excess energy,when the demand is low, and reuse this energy later or when needed. This energy can be stored in a Storage unit called „Battery‟.
When estimating the cost of the “photovoltaic + energy storage” system in this project, since the construction of the power station is based on the original site of the existing thermal power unit, it is necessary to consider the impact of depreciation, site, labor, tax and other relevant parameters on the actual cost.
