How many communication base stations are there in San Diego that have wind and solar complementarity

The City of San Diego is proud to host Naval Base San Diego, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Naval Base Point Loma, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and Coast Guard Sector/Air Station San Diego, as well as National Guard and reserve centers for every branch of service.

Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) San Diego as we know it today was born when communications and automated data processing were integrated as a result of the merger of Naval Communications Station and Navy Regional Data Automation Center.

By 1989, the station had seen tremendous growth in its role as a leader in Naval telecommunications, delivering over 48 million messages in that year alone. The NCTS San Diego BCO provides on-campus and DISA last mile data circuit connectivity and connectivity between individual command phones and commercial phone networks. Service customer billing and vendor invoice processing for the PAC Northwest and Southwest is also performed here.

In 1917 Chollas Heights became the Transmitter Site. In 1922 the Comm Center was moved to downtown San Diego and in 1947 Imperial Beach became the Receiving Site. In 1953, the command was renamed Naval Communications Station, San Diego. This new title reflected a growing mission and increased technical responsibilities.
